Hamilton Island Project
Lidoran Architectural Roofing Company has been spreading their wings north to Hamilton Island, Great Barrier Reef having successfully won several projects on the popular, idyllic holiday spot!

Hamilton Island Project- Before
LAR was approached by HIE and we successfully negotiated to reroof the Outrigger Resort Centre Project – 5,100m2 of cedar shingles needed to be removed and replaced with metal roofing sheets as there was a problem with serious leaks during the wet season.
It took 24 men 2 weeks to complete the first two towers with most of the work consisting of the labour intensive task of removing the shingles and rebattening. 2 tip trucks transported the cedar shingles to the Green Waste recycling plant.

Hamilton Island Project - During
All work was done using safety harnesses and scaffolding was a must given the 45 and 60 degree pitches. .48 Corrugated Ultra in Woodland Grey was then chosen to re sheet the towers resulting in a smooth sleek look. 15 metre high scaffold towers were built inside the resort centre to enable us to change the curved skylights. The scaffolding was erected at night and dismantled at night 3 days later so as to minimize disruption to resort guests. This project is programmed for completion in November 08.

Hamilton Island Job - After
Being an island meant that all materials had to be barged from Shute Harbour and all tools and equipment needed to be shipped up in containers from Sydney. Wayne Podlich – Operations Manager embraced the logistical challenge and along with the help of his dedicated tradesman managed to secure yet further projects on Hamilton Island; an extension at the Hamilton Island airport and the installation of a roof safety system comprising of 1,500 safety anchor points to Qualia – the 6 Star resort that caters to the rich and famous.

Hamilton Island Yacht Club Villas
Whilst working on the Yacht Club Villas our roofing skills were noted by Hamilton Island Enterprises (HIE) and we were asked to tender on another island project – the reroof of the Beach Club. This entailed the removal of 4,600m2 of pressed metal tiles and replace with Fielders HPS 200 metal profile in Merlin Grey. We won the job and proceeded to complete the project in 4.1/2 weeks.
